September’s launches are perfect for making memories, staying in touch, getting cozy, and spending time as a family. It’s like the universe is easing us into the holiday season! Take a look at what came to IFTTT last month.
Say cheese
Two new updates for photography fans. Aura Frames is a smart photo display system that can show off your pics or any number of inspiring images. You could even pair it with Jibo — this voice assistant launched in beta earlier in the year, but they’re back with a new trigger: Jibo can now take photos. Smile!
Meet the IFTTT bot!
After a few weeks in a private beta, we were delighted to go live with our Facebook Messenger integration. Applets can bring important information into your chat with the IFTTT bot so you’re always up to date and informed.
Hi from the UK
Two devices from UK-based companies made their debut last month. Smarter, which has a range of innovative smart kitchen appliances, launched their iKettle. And Hive added to their range of services with Hive Active Thermostat. Stay toasty, and have a cuppa.
Manage the ins and outs of your home
Whether they’re in real life, via your door or garage; or virtual, via the internet — you want to have control and visibility into what’s coming into and out of your home. Amarr Entrematic’s garage and door systems have the first scenario covered. And Circle’s innovative internet controls make managing the online habits of anyone in the house easy and automatic. Their partnership with Disney will help keep your kids happy, even while you’re regulating their screen time!
Finally, Optus Smart Living also brought their service online. Based in New Zealand, Australia, and China, they want to educate people about smart homes. They’ve curated an impressive selection of Applets to help tell that story.
Don’t want to wait for the October wrap-up to hear about the latest and greatest on IFTTT? Our refreshed IFTTT service has some Applets for that, too. Turn them on, and be the first to know when a new app or device hits the platform.

We often talk about the hundreds of services on IFTTT, and the millions of Applets you can turn on. However, we know that what you care about most are the services you personally use, and the Applets that work with them.
That’s why we’ve added a new feature to IFTTT: You can now turn on or make Applets that tell you when a service publishes a new Applet or adds new functionality.
We’ve always had the IFTTT service. It was actually our very first one! It’s how we send you Applet recommendations and keep you updated via our blog.
These new Applets are powered by the same IFTTT service. You may notice other services on IFTTT publishing their own Applets that use it, and when they do you’ll see the IFTTT icon under “works with.”
If you want to make your own, it’s simple — just go to ifttt.com/create and select the IFTTT service as your trigger. For your action, choose however you want to get the information: a Slack message, a blinking light bulb, a phone call…etc!
Subscribe to your favorite services today! When your favorite app or device has an exciting new IFTTT update, you’ll be the first to know.

August may be the lazy days of summer, but there was no slacking at IFTTT HQ. Ten new services launched, unlocking hundreds of new Applet possibilities. Here’s the rundown of what’s new on IFTTT as we head into the fall.
New offerings from familiar partners
The air-quality monitoring superstars behind Awair launched the Awair Glow. It’s a triple threat: an air monitor, smart plug, and night light. The Home Connect Hood also made its debut, bringing the number of IFTTT-connected offerings in that product suite to seven.
Building on the home of the future
With every month, there’s a new way to customize your smart home. August was no exception. Neato’s robotic vacuum can take care of your floors, while My Leviton’s smart lights show off your space.
Nature Remo can keep things temperate, and mCamView Z+’s camera system can give you eyes on the inside.
Don’t forget about the garage
Chamberlain’s MyQ system lets you control your garage door from anywhere, automatically. And when you get in your car (or if someone else gets in it!), Bouncie’s dashboard plug-in will send and save important updates.
Find and save the information you need
For all you life-loggers out there, My Cloud Home can help you build a custom, private storage solution (and Applets can help you fill it automatically, of course). If you’re more interested in information about certain influential groups, the Ballotpedia service is for you. It’s a neutral source of information about American politics. Fact checking for the win.
Things aren’t slowing down around here. In fact, with CES 2018 in January, we expect many more services to launch as businesses prep for the big show. Stay tuned and check back every month to see what’s new and noteworthy.

It’s hard to decide what’s more exciting: adding a new service to a robust category, such as smart lighting — or launching a service that’s the first of its kind. Luckily, we don’t have to choose, and July saw new service launches in both groups! Here’s what’s new.
Smart home systems
People have never had so many different ways to manage and monitor their homes — you can create a truly customized environment. In July, Amdocs Connected Home and Smart Life launched to bring you new possibilities.
New appliances and accessories
Of course, your smart home system needs to be integrated with different appliances and devices. This month, Blueair added to their range with the Classic i air purifier. You could pair it with our newest smart lighting service, ilumi, to get a visual cue if there’s an air quality issue.
Parents need connected homes, too — iBaby launched in July to help you better monitor your little one’s environment. Too sunny in their room? Link Shades, new on the platform, can help keep things shady and cool.
Smart routers
This growing category saw two new entries in July: TP-Link Router and ASUS Router. In addition to prioritizing devices, you can use them to monitor how and when people connect to your network.
Connected timekeepers
Old-school style meets new technology: Kronaby’s luxe watches help you run Applets at the push of a button. Not on the go? Glance Clock brings information to you via a sleek, minimalist design — connect it to IFTTT to display everything from the weather to sports scores.
IFTTT firsts: ridesharing, tea kettles, pillows, and machine learning
The Uber service launched just a few weeks ago, and it’s already making an impact. While you’re waiting for your ride, why not brew up a quick cup of tea? Appkettle’s the first connected electric kettle on IFTTT.
Prefer coffee? The first smart pillow on IFTTT, ZEEQ by REM-Fit, has an Applet that can tell your coffeepot to start a brew when you wake up. Finally, Mateverse also came online in July. It’s the first service in the machine learning category. It’s taking the concept of “smart devices” to a whole new level….
Coding education and weather monitoring
Alright, we admit it — some months not everything fits into neat and tidy groupings. But we didn’t want to wrap up without highlighting these two cool services! EveryKit, based in Korea, is a complete kit designed to teach children to code. Their Applets work with their course material. Ambient Weather’s service works with your weather station to give you detailed insights into your environment. You can turn on Applets that work with temperature, rain, wind speed, UV levels, and more.
…but that’s not all! To round out the month, our engineers made some big updates to two popular services: Dropbox and Vimeo. If you’re a current user of either service you don’t need to do anything to reap the benefits. If you haven’t already connected them, now’s the time to give it a go.
While you’re connecting all of the above, we’re hard at work helping new services join the platform. Stay tuned — we’ll be back in September to share what launched in August.
